Dilworth Trust Board welcomes feedback on proposals

13 April 2022

Statement from Dilworth Trust Board Chairman Aaron Snodgrass

“Thank you to all Old Boy survivors, those affected by abuse and members of the wider Dilworth community who have provided such considered feedback on our proposals for an independent Redress Programme and an Independent Inquiry.

“Whether or not you provided feedback, thank you to all those who have visited the Dilworth Response website and taken the time to learn more about these proposals as we seek to openly and honestly respond to the issue of historical abuse at our School.

“The Dilworth Trust Board will carefully consider all feedback before these programmes are finalised in consultation with the independent experts and community members of standing that are appointed to the Redress Panel, and the Independent Inquiry Head.

“Listening to Old Boy survivors and others in our community is an important feature in the development of these programmes, and we appreciate the time and consideration taken by all those who have been part of this process.”

The intended timetable for finalising and establishing these programmes is as follows:

Timeline

Date

Activity

15 March 2022 – 13 April 2022

Feedback received from all Old Boy survivors, those affected by abuse and the wider Dilworth community on the proposed Independent Inquiry

By 30 June 2022

Every endeavour will be made to commence the Redress Programme and Independent Inquiry in the first half of this year. However, this timeline is subject to providing the time to carefully review and give proper consideration to the meaningful feedback we have received before finalising the proposed scope of both programmes. It is also subject to the appointment of the Redress Panel members, and the Independent Inquiry Head, who will have input into the final design of their respective programmes.
